This disease, ascribed by Socrates (1. v. c. 26) to the
fatigues of war, is represented by Philostorgius (1. xi. c.
2) as the effect of sloth and intemperance; for which
Photius calls him an impudent liar (Godefroy, Dissert. p.
438).
